Asian Handicap Football Betting
in association with
Mansion
This style of betting gives you a more serious chance of getting returns. Originally used by the South East Asian 'big money' gamblers, Asian handicaps are now available to all.

tutorial for getting started on Asian Handicaps courtesy of Mansion
The ‘handicap’ is created when one team has plus or minus half of a goal before the match has started. Using this approach, if the actual result is a draw at 1:1, and you've bet on Team A at
'plus half a goal' (or +0.5), Team A therefore gets 1.5 goals, against the other team's 1 goal
- and this means you've won the bet.
So if Team A wins or draws
in the actual match - you win your bet. You’re covering two options with this bet.
There are a range of handicaps offered, for example +1.5 goals, -0.5, +2 and so on. The principle is the same - the handicap is added to the actual result to give you your betting result.
If you bet on a negative goal handicap, the team must win by more than the level
chosen eg. If you bet on -1.5 goals, the team must win by 2 clear goals for you
to win your bet.
The level can also be 0, where in the case of a draw the stakes are refunded (which acts as a safety net), or sometimes the bet is split over two different handicap levels, for example over both +0.5 and +1. This last bet could also be shown as +0.75.

The odds offered on Asian Handicaps (sometimes called Asian Lines) reflect the likelihood of the event occurring, so it pays to shop around because companies see the risk and likelihood differently.

People who tend to bet on Asian Handicaps really know their football. Often they bet larger stakes than other punters and the wins come in more often. Betting like this works well when backing a strong team playing away against a team of a slightly inferior level, in ‘derby’ games or if there’s an underdog who might get a +2.0
start.
This type of bet can usually be included in multiples, but is best used as a large single bet where you focus on one match and get it right.
